Male Enhancement Pill Gets Olympian Into Hot Water

Well that’s embarrassing.

LaShawn Merritt, the Olympic 400-meter champion, has been suspended for testing positive for a banned testosterone substance, according to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). It is the role of the U.S Anti-Doping Agency to monitor the testosterone levels of their athletes to detect if any of them are using steroids or performance enhancing drugs that would positively effect their athletic ability and would potentially taint scores and records.

According to Merritt, however, his performance enhancers were of a completely different nature.

Allegedly, Merritt has admitted to taking male enhancement pills and that was the reason for his positive testing

According to a report from the USADA, Merritt "demonstrated tremendous characted in making what had to be a painful and humiliating confession (and)… enhancing his sports performance was the last thing on Mr. Merritt's mind when he purchased” the male enhancement pills.

According to a report in USA TODAY:

“The 24-year-old won gold medals in the 400 meters and as part of the USA's 4x400-meter relay at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Last year he repeated the double at the world championships. A three-member panel from the American Arbitration Association ruled on the case.”

So a tip for future Olympic athletes; be very selective with your male enhancement selection.
